At Country Woodworkers Ltd., we take great pride in our Mother Hubbard's brand of country-style furniture and kitchens. Which is why we and Costco guarantee your satisfaction. We're not a factory - everything is handcrafted and carefully constructed one piece at a time. Built solid and strong with the Mother Hubbard's rustic look. What also distinguishes the MHC brand is our laborious finishing process. Each piece is hand sanded, sealed with a lacquer stain mix, hand sanded again, painted (one or two coats), hand sanded again, and completed with two additional coats of lacquer.

The wood we use for the Mother Hubbard's brand is west coast Alder which comes straight from our local forests around Powell River and the Sunshine Coast. Alder is a hardwood, very stable and finishes extremely well. It has undergone a major transformation from being considered a weed species to being recognized as a premium commercial species and an important ecological component of the Sunshine Coast and Pacific Northwest forests.

"We recently did a major remodeling and we must say we absolutely love the craftsmanship involved in our Mother Hubbard's kitchen. Your personal service was also very appreciated. The kitchen is a meeting place, not just a place to prepare food, and people really enjoy congregating in our kitchen! We love our kitchen and so do our friends. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for a wonderful job!"
- Jay & Diana Beskind, Seal Rock, Oregon

"We met with many cabinet and furniture makers and we picked Country Woodworkers because of Rick's artistic abilities and his talent for small but critical detail. The craftsmanship is second to none. We wanted the best and we got it."

"My island is incredible! It's the place that everyone wants to gather around. It is very inviting and I use it for everything. Yesterday we assembled 15 pizzas. I do crafts on it, roll out baking, and entertain on it. People walk in and say 'WOW'. I needed a functional kitchen that was easy to work in. I wanted it to look good but #1 was that I could work well in it. And I can definitely do that, so thank you again!"
- Shannon Stevens, Powell River, British Columbia

"I'm definitely very pleased with my kitchen and I thank you for a job well done. Anyone who sees it for the first time is just absolutely amazed."
- Marilyn Hussy, Delta, British Columbia

"There's just no comparison between our old kitchen and our Mother Hubbard's kitchen. I'm so proud to show it off to everyone. Not only is it luxurious but I have more room and everything is so accessible. It's like owning anything. If you like it, you get the best. That's what I did and I couldn't be happier."
-Dorothy Hunter, Powell River, British Columbia
